Sisterhood

Our sisterhood at Congregation Beth Ohr is a very active organization. Being an active member can be a very rewarding experience. Our committees give members the chance to enjoy the satisfaction of working together to enhance our Jewish community.

What is sisterhood? We are a group of dedicated Jewish women working together to promote the welfare of our synagogue and our religious school. We further Jewish education, encourage youth activities, and promote a general program of educational and cultural activities within our membership. While at work at these goals, we learn, we educate our children and ourselves, and we have fun.

These are just a portion of some of the activities and programs we are involved in, Hospitality, Gold Cards and Beth-O-Grams, Oneg Shabbat, Good and Welfare, Fund Raising and Adult Education. There are many, many more activities and programs that we undertake or are involved in.

Our sisterhood is affiliated with the National Women’s League that is associated with the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, all part of the Conservative Movement. National Women’s League is composed of regional branches; each regional branch has as members the affiliated Sisterhoods in its geographical area. Sisterhood of Congregation belongs to the Central New Jersey Branch.
