Congregation Beth Ohr
wants you!!
Congregation Beth Ohr is an inclusive
congregation that welcomes everyone to traditional egalitarian services
designed to promote inclusivity.
Our membership includes people of all ages,
singles, couples and we especially welcome inter-marrieds who wish to
experiment with a Jewish lifestyle and raise their children in the Jewish
faith.
Rabbi Eugene A. Wernick, our Rabbi, had the
privilege to study with the giants of Jewish scholarship. He endeavors to transmit his knowledge
in an informative, informal and user friendly way.
Our lunch and learn sessions on Shabbat mornings
are well attended and very much enjoyed.
The Lunch and Learn program has been expanded to our Junior Congregation
that will feature family education as parents and children learn together and
teach each other.
Our Mens Club, Sisterhood, and youth programs
appeal to all age groups.
Our Daytimers are a senior USY group for
retirees. Their many trips and
programs are very popular with all who participate.
We invite all interested parties to join us for
services on Friday evenings or for Shabbat services. You will find people who will welcome you and a Rabbi who
looks forward to your inquires and questions.

Welcome
to Congregation Beth Ohr, a traditional conservative synagogue committed to an
Egalitarian future, affiliated with United Synagogue of Conservative
Judaism. We are centrally
located in Old Bridge within minutes of East Brunswick, Marlboro, Matawan,
Monroe and Sayreville.
We
like to describe our synagogue as a large family, rather than a small
congregation. Our membership
includes singles, newly married couples, and families with school children,
empty nesters and retirees. Simchas, including bŐnai mitzvah, baby namings,
aufrufs, are shared with all members of our synagogue.
We
would love for you to join our family.
- Harriet Rabinowitz, President

We
have an active MenŐs Club, which meets weekly on Sunday mornings for Minyans
followed by a breakfast. Some
Sunday mornings we present special events such as our very own ŇBagel TalkŐsÓ
which can include religious, educational and financial lectures given by
invited guest or even our own members.

Sisterhood
is a group of dedicated Jewish women working together to promote the welfare of
our synagogue and our religious school.
They further Jewish education, encourage youth activities, and promote
cultural events. Sisterhood is a
very active organization, being an active member can be a very rewarding
experience.

The
Congregation Beth Ohr Religious School provides religious education for
children from kindergarten through seventh grade. Our mission is to prepare our children to enjoy the richness
of a Jewish life, now and as adults, through programs that put Jewish
principles into practice. We are
committed to transmitting and nurturing the joy and deep happiness that comes
from participating in our tradition.
The
goals of our religious school are to teach Jewish children literacy in
traditional Jewish subjects including the Hebrew language, Bible, laws and
customs, prayer, Jewish history and Israel.
Our
religious school offers small classes in order to provide the highest possible
level of individualized learning and attention.

Adult Education
From
holiday traditions to Torah study, from Jewish life in distant lands to diverse
types of Judaic traditions here and at home, the subjects of our adult
education programs are as varied as the interest of the people who belong to
our congregation.
